Operating experience for strategic decisions
I bring more than two decades of operating experience across game development, product, technology, studio management and international organizations. My advisory perspective comes from having operated inside the organizations facing the decisions under discussion, spanning strategy, studio building, operations, international expansion and organizational transformation.
Board and advisory experience
- La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec — Board Member, 2022–2023. Contributed to governance, strategic orientation and public positioning for Quebec’s video game industry association, working with government stakeholders, funding bodies and ecosystem partners on talent development and sector growth, and supporting dialogue between industry and public institutions on workforce and long-term sustainability.
- Interactive Society of Nova Scotia (ISNS) — Founder. Established Nova Scotia’s first professional video game industry association, acting as a liaison between local studios, economic development agencies and public institutions, in close partnership with Nova Scotia Business Inc., and representing the provincial industry nationally and internationally through public speaking and institutional outreach. I was involved in drafting the Memorandum of Understanding signed by JOGA and ISNS on November 22, 2018, at a ceremony held at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo (coverage here)
- Japan Mission, Global Affairs Canada (2018) — Selected and mandated by the Government of Canada to join an international industry mission to Japan strengthening ties between the Canadian and Japanese video game industries. Served as the mission’s sole speaker, engaging three universities and multiple industry audiences on bilateral knowledge exchange.
- UQAT (Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue) / Cégep de Bois-de-Boulogne — Academic and Industry Partner, supporting curriculum alignment and talent pipeline development through mentorship, portfolio reviews and capstone evaluations, helping students transition into professional creative and technical roles.
- Side Quest Games — Investor and strategic advisor to this independent, Barcelona-based studio developing sports games for audiences and sports that have historically received less attention from the industry. My involvement combines financial backing with strategic guidance for the founding team, on areas such as studio strategy, product positioning and organizational development.
Rather than treating strategy and execution as separate conversations, I focus on the connection between the two: what the organization is actually trying to achieve, what structure and capabilities that requires, where the real constraints sit, and what needs to change for the strategy to become genuinely executable rather than aspirational.
I’m interested in selected board and advisory opportunities where this operating experience, across games, technology, product, operations and international organizations, can contribute a practical, execution-minded perspective.
